My Next 10 Netgalley Reads

I've been a member of Netgalley since sometime in 2012. Netgalley is a website for book reviewers to use. You create an account and create a profile with information about where you post book reviews and what your book preferences are.

You can request advance copies (ebooks & audiobooks) of books that are coming out soon. Once you're approved, you will have access to a digital copy for you to read and when you're done you share your review online.

For today's blog post I'm going to share some upcoming books I will be reading and reviewing here on the blog. This will give you a sneak peek of what is to come on my blog in 2023.

1. How Can I Help You by Laura Sims

July 18, 2023

A thriller about two librarians? Sounds fascinating to me. One of the librarians, Margo, is an average librarian with an average life. She has her secrets but enjoys the normalcy of her everyday life. Meanwhile a new librarian joins the library. Her name is Patricia. Patricia begins to notice odd things about Margo, and begins to look into her past.

I'm just going to say it... Don't try to hide things from a librarian! Lol. You think they don't have the means or the knowledge to find out your secrets? This one sounds super interesting and I can't wait to dig in.

2. Georgie, All Along by Kate Clayborn

January 24, 2023

This book sounds so cute! Georgie is a personal assistant in LA, so she's used to focusing on others more than herself. But when she finds herself back in her hometown and revisiting things from her past, she finds herself coming to terms with her life and finding out what will really make her happy.

I love coming of age stories so I have a feeling this one will be right up my alley. I think this one will have more of a women's fiction feel to it, although I think there is a bit of romance in it as well.

3. For You and Only You by Caroline Kepnes

April 25, 2023

Oh you. Haha. Just kidding! But this is book #4 in the You series by Caroline Kepnes and I am actually a couple of chapters in. Joe Goldberg is on a completely different adventure in this book. He's at Harvard, taking a writing class. And if this story is at all similar to the rest, I'm sure he will develop a crush on someone and become wildly obsessive.

This should be a fun one!

4. Famous for a Living by Melissa Ferguson

May 16, 2023

The cover for this one is so cute. I actually follow Melissa on tiktok but I haven't read any of her books so this is a great opportunity for me. This story is about an influencer who leaves everything behind to work with her Uncle at a National Park. It's a big adjustment for her and it sounds like she meets some pretty interesting people, including a cute park ranger who catches her eye.

I love stories where people from the city get thrown into the country (is this a trope? If so, what is it called? Lol) so I'm sure this one will be really good.

5. Same Time Next Summer by Annabel Monaghan

June 6, 2023

A tale as old as time... two people that used to have a thing for each other being reunited when one of them visits their hometown for the Summer. Will they? Won't they? But one of them is engaged! The drama!

Ok. I'm being silly now. But I requested this one because I love a good Summer Love story. I'll let you know how this one is when I'm done with it.

6. Royal Blood by Aimee Carter

March 7, 2023

This is a YA murder mystery/thriller. I really enjoyed The Ivies by Alexa Donne so I thought this might be a fun read as well. It's about the illegitimate daughter of the King of England, who comes into the spotlight when it is revealed who her father is.

She becomes a suspect in a murder case. As the truth is slowly revealed and secrets come out, she begins to find out the truth about the British monarchy.

I have high hopes for this one. It sounds very fun and dramatic, like a British Gossip Girl or something.

7. A Half-Baked Murder by Emily George

February 21, 2023

So there are a lot of baking and bake shop mysteries, but this is a new one to me. A cannabis bakery! Lol. The main character is named Chloe Barnes and although she has lots of cooking and worldly experience, she winds up going back to her hometown of Azalea Bay after her grandmother gets sick. While there, Chloe begins baking and selling edibles with her Aunt Dawn.

I don't know a lot about this subject, but I don't know... I think this just sounds like a fun and contemporary take for the cozy mystery genre. I can't wait to read this one and post my full book review when I'm done.

8. Mrs. Claus and the Evil Elves by Liz Ireland

September 22,  2022

This is the third book in the Mrs. Claus series by Liz Ireland and I've just loved this series so far. It's about April Claus, who marries Santa and moves to the North Pole to be with him. It hasn't all been fun and games. In fact, she's had to help solve to mysteries so far. But this book is about how her friend is visiting from Oregon. Everything should be all good, right? Not exactly.

At first I wasn't sure how I felt about Murder in Santaland, but this series is filled with fun characters and interesting mysteries. I can't wait to check this one out.

9. Peg and Rose Solve a Murder by Laurie Berenson

August 30, 2022

I've seen books by Laurie Berenson at Barnes & Noble before but I haven't had a chance to read any of them yet. Peg and Rose grabbed my attention because it's about two sister in laws in their sixties who have to solve a murder together after someone in the local bridge club is murdered.

10. The Family You Make by Jill Shalvis

January 11, 2022

Jill Shalvis is one of my favorite contemporary authors. She has a knack for writing such cute and interesting small towns. I'm not sure whether her stories fall into the romance or the women's fiction category, because while her books always feature a romance, they also feature interesting characters and lots of growth.

This one is a fake dating story about a guy and a girl who are in a precarious situation. The guy isn't sure that he's going to make it out alive and he lies to his mother and says that he's in a serious relationship to make her happy. Haha. Once he survives the situation, he then has to come up with a way to appease his mother so that he doesn't disappoint his family.

Sounds cute!
