My 5 Most Anticipated Releases (All genres) in 2023

There are so many books that I'm looking forward to in 2023 that I've been breaking down my book lists into different genres. But today is a special blog post because I've gone over the different lists I've been working on and I've compiled a list of my TOP 5 books that I am anticipating in the upcoming new year.

Most of these are by authors who I have read before, so I'm pretty sure that these books are going to live up to the hype. So let's get on with my list!

1. Happy Place by Emily Henry

My first Emily Henry book that I ever read was People We Meet on Vacation, back in 2021. And although Beach Reads will always be my favorite (which I read next), I was completely enthralled. It's so fun to find an author who has a great writing style and writes exactly the kind of book that you want to read.

Happy Place comes out on April 25, 2023 and I can't wait. It's not quite what I was expecting. It's about a couple who hasn't been able to admit to their friends that they're broken up, so when everyone gets together for a last hurrah at their favorite getaway spot in Maine, the couple decides to pretend like things are find for the sake of their friends.

I love a good fake dating story, although I'm not sure I've ever read one where the couple actually used to be dating and isn't even more.

Leave it to Emily Henry! I have a feeling this is going to be a good one.

2. For You and Only You by Caroline Kepnes

I feel like I heard people talking about this book for so long. I was curious, but I didn't buy it because I wasn't sure that I would be able to read a book in second person.

I know. I know. What a mistake!

I listened to the first two books in audiobook format and then when the third book came out I bought the hardcover at WalMart. Haha. I just had to know what happens next! And now Caroline has written a fourth book in the series and I'm even more intrigued. Will Joe finally fall in love? Will it be a love that lasts? Or will something get in the way like it always does.

I was talking to my boyfriend about this series and I said that while I really enjoy the books, I really enjoy the TV show as well. They've gone in completely different directions and it's just fun to see what Joe Goldberg gets up to next.

3. Never Never by Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher

Technically this is a re-release, I think? I believe Colleen and Tarryn wrote this 3 part novella series a couple of years ago and now it's being published as one continuous work.

I'm excited though because I only ever read part 1 of the series and so now I can buy the complete book and devour the entire thing at once. Haha. To find out more about the plot, click here. I'm a little fuzzy on the storyline because I read part 1 quite a few years ago but I think think it's a paranormal story, about two people who wake up one day and can't remember anything about their pasts. According to the Amazon page it comes out February 28, 2023.

4. The Quarantine Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot

I just mentioned the other day that The Princess Diaries is one of my favorite book series, and Meg Cabot is releasing a new Princess Mia book on March 28, 2023. Mia is one of the most practical characters I've ever read about so I'm sure it will be fun to read about what she's been up to and how the Genovians dealt with Covid-19 and the pandemic.

I believe that some of the content in this book was shared on Meg Cabot's website, but a lot of it will be new content that she wrote just for the book, so that is very exciting. I love getting a new installment about all of my favorite characters. It makes me so happy!

5. The Villa by Rachel Hawkins

I'm actually read an ARC of this book right now and I just love it. It's a mystery/thriller taking place in tow different time periods, connected by the Italian villa where both stories take place. It actually reminds me a lot of a Taylor Jenkins Reid book because of how the two stories are connected.

I highly recommend if you liked Rachel's other books, The Wife Upstairs and Reckless Girls. She just has a great writing style that has sucked me right in. I can't wait until tonight when I can keep reading and find out what in the world is going on with these characters.
