Christmas Romance Novellas to Read This Holiday Season

It's December which means two things:

  1. I want to read ALL the Christmas books.
  2. I need to hurry up and read faster so that I can complete my goodreads reading challenge for the year.
Whenever December rolls around, I always cheat a little bit. I pick up middle grade books, graphic novels, and short novellas to help me meet my annual book goal for the year.

Whatever works, right?

This year, I'm planning to check out a bunch of these awesome sounding Christmas romance novellas to help me meet my goal for this year. These stories sound adorable and they're also seasonally appropriate, plus I can read them through Kindle Unlimited.

1. The Fake Santa Apology Tour by Julie Olivia

The premise of this one is very funny to me. Main character Birdie Mae has a thing for good looking Santas. Ok... And Nicholas Ryan, a Santa from her past, just might be the next guy to catch her eye. It sounds like this book has all of my favorite small town Christmas activities in it. The description on Amazon said that I'm sure to laugh out loud, so this one sounds like it's right up my alley.

2. The Christmas Club by Barbara Hinske

According to the sticker on the cover, this book is now a Hallmark Christmas movie. How cool!

The main character is named Verna Lind and when she's leaving the bank one day, the wind picks up and blows some of her money away, which is the Christmas Club savings. Kind strangers in town help her and I have a feeling this is a story where people learn the true meaning of Christmas.

P.S. The movie stars Elizabeth Mitchell and I just love her, so I will definitely be checking this one out.

3. My Knight Before Christmas by Amanda P Jones

This is very fun because the title is a play on words. See, the main character is in love with a man named Liam Knight. But he once ghosted her and she's not sure if she should trust him and let him back in. When she's in a tough situation at work, she has to decide whether she should let him come to her rescue and be her knight in shining armor.

I can't wait to check this one out. I love a good second chance romance. Hopefully he has a good reason for why he ghosted her.

4. The Holiduel by Hailey Gardiner

A second chance romance about chefs? Count me in! This story is about two pastry chef rivals who wind up sharing a commercial prep kitchen during the holidays. The two find themselves getting competitive as one of them begins booking more gigs than the other. The question is, will they be able to work things out and work together in peace? Or will one of them have to one up the other?

This actually sounds kind of similar to My Knight Before Christmas but I love that this one takes place in Nashville. I heard the food there is quite tasty! And I love to read about good food.

5. Wish Upon a Christmas Star by Karen McQuestion

Gwen Hayward is new to Poplar Creek but she's not really in the mood to meet new people. She's miserable after her divorce and isn't in a great place. But when she sees a girl leave an anonymous Christmas wish on the local bookstore's Christmas tree, she decides that she wants to fulfill the girl's wish. The local bookstore owner helps her on her mission.

This one sounds so cute! I love a story where no matter how down a person is, doing a good deed or helping others uplifts them. I think that's why I enjoy Hallmark movies so much. Haha.

6. Christmas in Comfort by Jennifer Youngblood

Caroline is a widow, and she and her teenage son are having trouble adjusting to their new life. When her mother has an accident, she has to go back to her home town in Alabama so she can help run her family's pizza restaurant. While she's back in town, she happens to run into Hayden Morelli, her former brother in law and the man who previously broke her heart.

This sounds so cute and I can already tell I'm going to be cheering for Caroline along the way.

7. A Little Christmas Magic by Chasity Bowlin

This historical Christmas romance sounds so cute. It's about a man who is a solicitor and he goes to a young woman's home and explains that she needs to leave so that the house can be turned over to the rightful heir. But she explains that it's her brothers house and that he'll be home for Christmas.

Hmm. Who is right and who is wrong?

Oliver makes a deal with Polly. He says that if her brother returns she can stay. But if he doesn't return, it will be up to him to escort her to her nearest living relatives house while the property is dealt with.

I love a romance where there's a deal. Haha. I have a feeling that Oliver and Polly will get to know each other quite well over the couple of days leading up to Christmas. What do you think?
