November 2019 Update: Life + Writing

Happy Thanksgiving! The past couple of times I've written an update it has been on a Sunday morning. But today is Thanksgiving which means that I don't have work today, so I have time to sit down and reflect on this past month.

One of my biggest challenges this month was participating in Millersville University's annual Turkey Trot today. I've always wanted to run in a race and today seemed like a good place to start. It was a 5k so it's similar to what I usually run at the gym but it was a lot harder than at the gym because of all the people and hills and wind! I had a lot of fun and would like to do it again next year.

Here's a shot of me a couple of minutes after I crossed the finish line. I'm feel proud of myself for finishing, but for also accomplishing a long time goal of running in a race.

Other personal goals I have been focusing on this month are meal prepping for myself and getting to the gym. Some of the meals I have made for myself are white bean chili, broccoli soup, chicken saag, vegetable curry, and I think a few more that I'm forgetting.

I've even made some of these more than once because I've enjoyed them so much.

I'm still catching up on my reading goal for this year. I'm really going to have to try harder if I want to make it. Haha We're almost one month away from the end of the year! Anyway, here's what I've been reading lately in the month of November.

You can follow me on goodreads if you're interested in hearing about my reviews! I try to post a few thoughts about what I read on there so that I can look back on it someday. I'm still trying to decide if I want to post full reviews on this blog or not.

As I mentioned in previous updates, I have been writing romantic fiction under a secret pen name and I am having some beginner's success which makes me happy! Here's a peek at what my Amazon KDP graph looks like right now.

My numbers are not great by any means, but it's a start, and that makes me so happy! Here's a breakdown of what's happened this month.

Books Sold: 13
KENP Pages Read: 3.586
Free Books Given Away: 224

Wow! My first book that I published under this pen name was published on the last day of August. I'm really excited at how things are picking up because I've just published my 12th book and I have plenty of ideas that I've been brainstorming about for new stories.

My original plan was to participate in NaNoWriMo but I wound up not focusing on that this year. Instead I've been focusing on plotting and organizing stories for my pen nam. I'm excited to update you more next month on my progress.

I have been neglecting my Etsy shop for the past couple of months as I've been focusing on fiction writing. It's just hard to find time for everything because I usually find myself so tired after work, plus I've been trying to fit more gym time into my schedule as well.

But, I'm working on a new zine that I will be releasing on 12.1.19.

That's right! Starry Nights, my personal zine, will be releasing a new issue on December 1st. This is the Christmas issue, because Christmas is my favorite holiday, obviously. I started working on it this week and will hopefully be finishing it this weekend so I can list it on Etsy soon.

I'll share some more details once I have them.

So that's it for this month! Overall I feel like it has been pretty productive and I'm pleased with the work that I've gotten done. I'm so excited to finish decorating my house for Christmas and get into the holiday spirit.
