October 2019 Update: Life + Writing

Happy Sunday! It seems like I always write these update posts on Sunday and I supposed there's a good reason for that. It's because I actually have the time! Today is rainy and cold and so I ran some errands this morning and then came home to make some corn chowder. I also threw dinner in the crockpot for tonight.

I've been experimenting with vegan recipes lately in an attempt to eat healthier. I'm really enjoying cooking for myself and incorporating more fruits and veggies into my diet. I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to go vegan permanently, but I'm at least cutting down on my meat and dairy consumption which is a start.

But enough about food. Let's get on with the update!

Life is going well right now. As I mentioned above, I'm trying to cook more and eat healthier and it's been fun so far. I'm trying out new recipes that I find online and working to incorporate more plant based foods in my diet because I want to be healthy and strong.

This is my first Halloween in my new house and so I've stocked up on candy for any trick or treaters who come to my house on Halloween. I'm not sure how many we'll have because this is my first time living here, but I think there are at least some kids in the neighborhood.

I'm still not on track yet with my reading goal for the year, but I'm working hard to catch up! Here's what I've been reading lately.

You can follow me on goodreads if you're interested in hearing about my reviews! I try to post a few thoughts about what I read on there so that I can look back on it someday. I'm still trying to decide if I want to post full reviews on this blog or not.

As I mentioned in my September update,  I am writing and publishing under a secret pen name. It's going pretty well so far. I'm having a lot of fun writing stories in the romance genre and it's really helping to spark my creativity and write everyday.

Next month is the beginning of a new National Novel Writing Month and I am getting excited. The plan is for me to write & complete Vanessa, the second book in my young adult Westwood High series. I've tried to write this book a couple of times and never finished it, so next month will be the motivation I need to get it done.

Are you participating in NaNoWriMo? If so, let me know what you'll be writing in the comments! You can also add me as a NaNo pal if you want! My username is Cellospice over there.

For the rest of October I'm going to be working on short stories for my secret pen name as well as working on the plot to Vanessa so that I'll have some direction while I'm writing in November. :)
